Assurance in Christ

Ever noticed how quickly you remember your faults, sins, and shortcomings? Ever noticed how minimal you remember your righteous acts, love shown towards others, and obedience to the later as instructed by your Creator?
The devil specializes in accusing us. He prides himself in constantly trying to remind us of those things we do or have done that doesn't glorify God. No wonder he is known as "The Accuser of the Brethren."

Our reward isn't on earth but in heaven. We run a marathon not a sprint. Watch a marathon race and you'll realize that he who ends up in the first position after the first lap isn't necessarily the person who wins at the end of the race.
Therefore run this race holding steadfast to His grace, which is more than sufficient for you. For when you fall, His mighty hands are available to lift you up. In times of storms, He will show up as The Prince of Peace.
In your weakness, He will strengthen you. When you are sorrowful or in grief, He will comfort you and eventually fill you with Joy. For this and many more He has assured, and that through the death of His Beloved Son - Jesus Christ.

Know when to let go

A few months ago I found myself in a situation common to most young adults. Some find themselves in this situation earlier than I did while others go through it at a later stage in their life. As a young adult (maybe an eligible young adult), I set out on the quest for love. No, not philia love (a type of love that is felt among friends who’ve endured hard times together) but one which surpassed that. I in all honesty believed I could get whoever I wanted. Not only did I believe this, I had good (or so I thought) justification to back up my belief. One, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Phil 4:13). What a way to coin the word of God to justify my desires. Two, I believed all I needed to do was say the right words, knowing fully well that ladies are moved by what they hear. WHY BE A PASTOR WHEN GOD HAS NOT CALLED YOU TO BE ONE?

There has been a continuous rise in the number of churches that closes down, the number of pastors or ministers committing suicide, caught in sexual immorality, etc. This issue should trouble the mind of every child of God. Why are those who ought to be teachers of the word of God  failing to walk according to what they preach? End times maybe? Are there factors that influence the growth in number of these occurrences amongst pastors in this present age and time? Jesus says in John 15:5 that " I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. " With this being known, are these fallen soldiers still remaining in the vine; that is in Jesus?
